NOW A HALLMARK CHRISTMAS MOVIE
NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Mrs. Miracle shows an ordinary family that they are blessed beyond belief in this uplifting holiday tale from Debbie Macomber, the queen of Christmas stories.

As the holiday season begins, Laurel McCullough could use some good news. She and her husband, Zach, have been praying for a baby that seems more and more like an impossible dream, and they’ve had to move in with her beloved grandmother, Helen, who’s having trouble taking care of herself. But when Laurel contacts a local home-care organization for help, there are no caregivers available.
Then Mrs. Miracle appears at the door. No stranger to lending a helping hand to a family in need, Mrs. Miracle reveals herself to be nothing short of a godsend. Helen’s even convinced she’s an angel! And Laurel can’t help but notice that with Mrs. Miracle’s companionship, Helen is noticeably happier and more engaged, decorating the family Christmas tree and setting up the nativity. In the meantime, Laurel and Zach encounter curious signs, all pointing toward the arrival of a special baby.
As Christmas approaches, there appears to be even more to Mrs. Miracle than meets the eye. In a classic tale of Debbie Macomber’s signature seasonal magic, Laurel, Zach, and Helen experience a holiday of heavenly proportions.

This faith-filled holiday tale has little romance but plenty of Christmas spirit. After many failed attempts to get pregnant, Laurel McCullough has finally given up hope, although her husband, Zach, believes it will one day happen. Laurel’s grandmother, Helen, who lives with them, has worsening dementia. Fortunately, a caregiver, Mrs. Miracle, arrives with glowing recommendations. Although Helen is happier than ever with her new companion, Zach becomes suspicious and questions Mrs. Miracle’s identity. His doubt is no match for Mrs. Miracle and her band of angels. The struggle to become parents eventually wears on Zach and Laurel’s relationship, especially when Zach secretly continues to take steps to bring their dream to fruition. Faith and doubt are at war, but Mrs. Miracle is a formidable fighter with the ever-faithful Helen as a trusty sidekick. Snowflakes, merry music, and a traditional Christmas pageant round out the story. Although there’s no classic romantic plotline, the story is filled with love and dedication. Macomber makes witty references to the Bible without being pushy or preachy. Anyone who enjoys Christmas will appreciate this sparkling snow globe of a story. Laurel McCullough was ten when her mom died unexpectedly and she went to live with her grandparents. Now Laurel and her husband, Zach, are back living with her grandmother, Helen, or Nana, after IVF drained their savings. Trying to adopt was another heartbreaking experience for the couple and left them wondering if they just aren't meant to be parents. When Helen's serious issues with her memory require a daily caretaker for her safety, Mrs. Miracle arrives and wonderful changes begin to happen. VERDICT This latest sweet, inspirational story from Macomber has enough dramatic surprises to keep pages turning. Likable characters and a satisfying ending make this a great choice for readers who enjoy sentimental, holiday-themed TV movies.
